Get out this weekend

Fed up with the usual routine? Here are a few suggestions for how you can spend the ultimate adrenaline-fuelled weekend.

The Edge

Friday: mountain (or all-terrain) boarding in Shropshire. Combining the trail and downhill racing elements of mountain biking with the freestyle component of snowboarding. The gear - a pimped-up skateboard, body armour and a crash helmet. Once you've got your balance sussed, step up to catch yourself some serious air.

£15pp for one hour of tuition and one hour on the slopes

Stealth

Saturday: Thorpe Park's Stealth, Europe's tallest launch roller coaster. Peaking at 205 feet and 80mph. Sharp turns, blistering acceleration and a stomach-wrenching 90-degree drop will leave you screaming. But you're back on solid ground in just under 15 seconds. Calm down in the queue then do it all again. Opens half-term, February 2008.

Adult entry £32

Bodyflight

Sunday: skydiving at Bodyflight, the world's largest indoor skydiving centre. Each one-minute flight in the 170mph wind tunnel offers a fantastic simulated freefall. The slightest change in body position can send you spinning around in circles or heading straight for the roof. But with a little practise, you'll soon be soaring.
