An innovative package

The new Mazda6 offers even more room than its predecessor. The cabin has a compact, sporty look that belies the spaciousness essential for everyday practicality.

Styling and storage are usually conflicting considerations. In designing the new Mazda6, a solution was found that combines a capacious, easy-to-use luggage area together with a neat and athletic form.

Similarly clever headliner design delivers plenty of headroom as well as superior visibility forwards and upwards. Unobstructed rearward visibility makes reverse parking more straightforward.

There are plenty of smart stowage places for smaller items, including a large glove box, a double-bottom stowage box in the front centre console and built-in cup holders front and back.

Easy loading and unloading

Key improvements have also been made to the luggage area of the Mazda6 Estate.

A wider luggage-area opening and more interior space close to the opening makes loading and unloading easier. The luggage-floor width within 700mm of the opening is the greatest in the class, recognising that this is where most people prefer to place items.

The wheel housings do not intrude into the luggage area and the luggage-area floor is flat. So objects can easily be placed in the luggage area and slid toward the rear seat.

The folding karakuri rear seat is complemented by a karakuri tonneau cover, which moves up and down with the tailgate. It's the ultimate in ease and convenience and can also be removed and stored below the floor if required.
