Sales Planning profile

Sales Programming & Analysis Manager
I have worked for Mazda since May 2006 and I am really enjoying it!
I'm a CIMA qualified accountant who started life at Mazda in a mainly project based role in the Finance department. When I joined Mazda I never thought I would work outside of Finance having spent the previous 9 years of my career in this area of business. Working for Mazda has opened up new opportunities for me and I have since been promoted into middle management within the Sales Planning team. It's great to have been recognised and given the opportunity to progress as I really believe that the good work that I have done whilst in the Finance team has been recognised and rewarded.
The Sales Planning team are essentially responsible for all aspects of the management and distribution of stock to the dealer network. So I'm not too far outside of my comfort zone as it's still working with a lot of numbers, but now with cars attached! It's a big responsibility as I am responsible for ordering all cars built for the UK and ensuring they are allocated correctly to our dealer partners and their customers. It's a good feeling as I am right at the cutting edge, making sure that the right mix of cars are being built to fit with the ever changing customer and market requirements.
I have previously worked for many big organisations such as Tesco, Pfizer and Saga but I have found that Mazda is different. Although it's a very big and well known company the team is relatively small. This makes you feel valued as a member of the team whose work is important and can really make a big impact. On a day to day basis I am finding my work challenging and interesting and I am constantly learning something new.
The culture at Mazda is very relaxed and I find it a happy and enjoyable place to work. There is a very strong feeling that everyone is pulling in the same direction and we are one team. Mazda is progressing very well as an organisation and the product line seems to be getting ever stronger. In the few years I've been working here we have introduced some truly amazing new vehicles into the market. Mazda as a company is definitely moving in the right direction.
I am proud to work for Mazda and having a brand new company car to drive around in has made many of my friends and family rather jealous. You don't have to be a car lover to work here but it certainly helps. Having said that after working here for a short while you can't help but feel strongly about the company and it's cars…..i'm already biased about the cars but what's not to like!!
