Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): Letting you know when you’re about to leave your lane
LDWS uses a camera at the top of your windscreen to monitor road markings and warn you if you’re about to veer from your lane.
The system operates when your speed exceeds 40mph, emitting from a speaker a sound similar to on-road rumble strips. It knows from your car’s behaviour when you’re intentionally leaving your lane, in which case it doesn’t sound the warning. This car safety feature is part of the optional safety pack, available on AWD Sport and Sport Nav models only.
In addition, the Safety Pack includes High Beam Control which automatically switches between high beam and low beam when there are oncoming cars approaching. And Rear Vehicle Monitoring system which provides assistance when changing lanes by warning you when a vehicle enters the blind spot detection zone. This activates a light in the door mirror on the relevent side of the car. If you indicate prior to turning, the warning light flashes and sounds an audible warning.
