So we developed SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY to create a highly efficient car, and new materials to make the car light yet strong. This resulted in class-leading fuel economy and low CO2 emissions starting from 119g/km and excellent aerodynamics also contribute to this outstanding environmental performance. Models fitted with the 2.2-litre SKYACTIV-D diesel engine already exceed future Euro Stage 6 emission standards.

What are SKYACTIV powertrains? They’re our SKYACTIV engines combined with our SKYACTIV transmissions. Designed to complement each other, they produce an efficient car that delivers high performance combined with outstanding fuel economy.

Our SKYACTIV-D diesel engine delivers up to an astonishing 61.4mpg whilst our SKYACTIV-G petrol engine delivers up to 47.1mpg. Both offer outstanding environmental performances – especially when compared to competitor SUV's.

i-stop technology for a more fuel efficient car with no compromise or inconvenience

Our innovative i-stop system saves fuel and cuts emissions by placing the engine on standby when stationary in traffic and instantly restarts as soon as you are ready to go. Standard on both SKYACTIV-G petrol and SKYACTIV-D diesel engines, this advanced system uses combustion energy rather than be reliant on the starter motor like regular start stop systems, for a smoother, quicker restart – just 0.35 seconds for SKYACTIV-G engine and 0.40 seconds for the SKYACTIV-D diesel engine – faster than the competition.
