safety hero

The Mazda3 is equipped with all our latest safety features

An outstanding safety performance is achieved with advanced car safety features that include our Rear Vehicle Monitoring system*, which gives you more awareness of vehicles behind and to the side of your car. Our  Lane Departure Warning System* also tells you if you’re about to leave your lane. And our Emergency Stop Signalling System flashes your hazard lights if you suddenly brake hard.

You have a clear view of all your safety alerts on the Active Driving Display.  And alongside the passive car safety features such as our extra-strong SKYACTIV-Body shell, these active technologies mean you can relax and enjoy your drive knowing you and your passengers are protected.

*Both systems are available as part of a pack at additional cost on Sport Nav models

Reversing Camera

The Rear View Camera assists with reversing manoeuvres, particularly when reversing into a tight parking space.

The reversing camera eliminates blind spots directly behind the car, normally not seen when looking through the rear view mirror. Parking guidance lines are displayed on the 7" colour touch-screen display showing the approximate width of the car, predictive guidance lines showing where the car will travel, as well as an indication of the distance from the rear bumper.
The reverse camera adds ease and confidence to reversing and parking, giving you a detailed view of what’s behind.

*Rear View Camera is standard for Upgraded Sport Nav models only.

Smart City Brake Support Looking out for traffic ahead and helping you stop in time

See how another of our pioneering car safety features enables an advanced safety performance.

Standard across the range, Smart City Brake Support is designed to help avoid or minimise the effects of low-speed collisions. The laser-based system continually monitors the gap and closing speed to the vehicle in front, and applies the brakes if it detects a collision is likely. (Operates at speeds up to approximately 20mph)
